Frequently Asked Questions About CBD Oil Products
Q: If CBD works for medical conditions, why haven’t I heard more about it?
A: The FDA doesn’t allow any claims or advertising about the medical or health benefits that CBD Oil may offer. What we can tell you is it that we have many customers who use our products for conditions including anxiety, arthritis, cancer, chronic pain, epilepsy, fibromyalgia, insomnia, migraines and other health concerns.
Q: How much CBD should I take?
A: While there are some general guidelines based on research, we can’t provide a definitive answer. The best way to determine the right dosing for your particular needs is through trial and error. You should start with a low dose taken twice daily, monitor that for a week, then increase the dose in small amounts as needed until you reach the right level for your needs. Luckily, there have never been reports of any negative side effects or overdoses associated with CBD.
Q: How long does it take for CBD to work?
A: When you find the right dose, it usually takes 20 to 30 minutes for it to begin working. It may seem difficult to notice that CBD is working because there is no immediate sensation such as the “high” from THC. If you are patient, you will begin to find that your symptoms are not as intense as they were. It may be subtle, but if you pay attention to your body and have reached the right dosage, you should feel the benefits, which usually increase with regular use of CBD.
Q: What's the best way to take CBD?
A: Everyone’s body responds differently, and each person also has different needs and preferences. This is one of the reasons why CBD comes in so many forms. Many of our customers like to start with drops, because they tend to be the easiest to add incrementally until you reach to right serving size for your needs. Ultimately, only you can decide what method of ingesting CBD is best for you.
Q: When using drops, how do I take them?
A: With CBD drops, the best way to take them is sublingually, underneath your tongue, because they are absorbed most quickly into your bloodstream that way. You can either drop them directly underneath your tongue, or if you find that difficult, first drop them into a spoon and then use the spoon to put the entire dose under your tongue at once. Wait at least 90 seconds before swallowing. You can also mix the drops into any beverage, but because your stomach acid tends to break down the cannabinoids, it is usually less effective that way. You may find that you need to use a dose that is much higher when you are ingesting CBD via your gastrointestinal tract.
Q: When vaping CBD oil, how will I know how much CBD I'm ingesting?
A: It depends on a number of factors, such as how long a draw you take, how long you hold it in before exhaling, and what brand of CBD oil you are using. You can look at the concentration of CBD in the oil you use, track how many draws you take from one cartridge, and then divide the amount of CBD in the filled cartridge by the number of draws taken to find the approximate amount of CBD in each draw.
Q: Will ingesting too much CBD hurt me?
A: You should always seek medical advice from your physician. However, there have never been any reports, including in multiple research studies, of any negative side effects associated with CBD or any potential for overdose.
Q: Can I take CBD with my prescription medication?
A: You should always tell your doctor about any supplements you are taking so he/she can evaluate the potential for any harmful effects when combined with prescription drugs. Many of our customers have found that after taking CBD products, they were able to reduce the dosage or even completely stop taking prescription medicines. Always consult your physician before discontinuing any medication.
Q: Is CBD legal in my state? Do I need a prescription or medical marijuana card?
A: All of the the CBD products we sell are fully legal in all 50 States and approximately 40 countries worldwide. They don’t require any prescription or medical card in any state. If you live in another country, please check your country’s laws before ordering.
Q: Will I get "high" from using CBD or become addicted to it?
A: THC is the chemical compound in cannabis that makes a person feel "high" because it is psychoactive. The amount of THC in hemp is so negligible that there have been no reports of CBD oil products making anyone feel “high” or “stoned.” CBD also has no known addictive properties.
Q: Is it safe to give CBD to children and/or pets?
A: We are not pediatricians or veterinarians and cannot provide medical advice. We do have clients who report giving CBD to toddlers, teens, and even pets with no ill effects. As always, we recommend consulting your physician with any safety concerns.
Q: Why are CBD products so expensive?
A: There are numerous steps and a large amount of plant material required to produce CBD oil and CBD-based products. The plant material must be grown and hemp oil extracted. The extract must then be tested to ensure its CBD content and purity. The extract then has to be formulated into the various products. The products are then sold to suppliers, and all parties need to recoup their expenses as well as make some profit in order to make the entire enterprise worthwhile.
Q: What is the difference between industrial hemp and pharmaceutical grade hemp?
A: Almost all of the hemp grown today is industrial hemp, or cannabis plants that have been specifically bred to be incredibly low in THC. Non-industrial hemp is basically marijuana. Pharmaceutical grade hemp is simply industrial hemp that has been carefully bred to have exceptionally high amounts of cannabinoids grown under exacting standards.
